This chapter analyzes some of the learning from the interactive, multimedia project conducted by the Vanderbilt University group. At the area on the Vanderbilt website devoted to the Learning Technology Center, which houses the Cognition and Technology Group, visitors will find general information about the center and its people, research, and resources. Among the research most directly related to teaching for understanding is the Schools for Thought project, designed to restructure the school day consistent with cognitive and social research on learning and instruction.
